What should you pack for a day of Wheeling?

All of my wheeling trips so far have been day trips (can’t live without my pups).

These items are ideas/suggestions and what I feel is necessary for the wheeling I do. (Mostly rockcrawling, if it rains then it turns into a muddy mess).

If I missed anything important, comment below!

Tech + Gadgets

  1. BaoFeng UV-5R Plus Qualette Two way Radio: An absolute must when wheeling as there’s never cell service where we go. It comes in a variety of colors and really easy to use (Make sure you get the 2013+ one as it has a boosted antenna).

  2. DJI Osmo Mobile: Fits most smart phones, it will change your video game! So..honestly I don’t really have time to whip it out to take videos, but I like to take it just in case.

  3. SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SD Card: I always buy a new one for a trip so that I don’t run out of space.

  4. Sony a7rIII with 35mm lens: Most of the time I use my Galaxy Note 10 but if I want to get fancy I use this DSLR

Tools and Recovery:

  1. First Aid Kit

  2. Recovery Straps - I got these from Tractor Supply haha.

  3. Craftsman 150Pc Mechanics Tool Set: This is probably the best purchase I have ever made, no explanation needed.

  4. Adjustable wrench: For those weird sizes

  5. D-rings: Needed for winching

  6. Bungee cords

  7. Pro Eagle Talon: Haven’t needed this yet but definitely a must bring!

  8. (Not pictured): 15lb Powertank

  9. (Not pictured): Pneumatic Impact Wrench

Food & Snacks

  1. Igloo MaxCold Backpack Cooler

  2. 3. 4. Light foods I find is best

    5. & 6. Lots of water and fruit

    7. COFFEE

Clothing

Comfortable clothes are a MUST when travelling for 4+ hours each way in the Jeep plus 7+ hours wheeling.

These shoes are so so comfortable and have amazing grip when climbing the rocks: Adidas Terrex Womens Shoes

My Soft Leggings, so comfy!

Tshirt: Luck Favors the Prepared

So did you find this helpful at all? Do you think there’s anything I need to add? Let me know below!

Thanks,

Nastassia
